Metaverse platform created by the university

Information about the new outcoming metaverse platform

With the recent development of technology, various metaverse platforms have become popular and commercialized. Universities in Busan are starting to build metaverse platforms with university characteristics ahead of the new semester. Busan University of Foreign Studies is also planning to build its own metaverse platform.

Many universities have improved their entrance and graduation ceremonies and exhibition services through commercial platforms such as Geppetto. However, the metaverse platform created by BUFS is capable of conducting various activities according to the preferences of the school. 'BUFS Global Lounge' provides function and display spaces for various activities such as dialogue, lectures, events, and exhibitions. It will also promote communication between domestic and foreign students and local communities.

The director of the E-Learning center said, “BUFS Global Lounge is not just a one-off event that many schools are using the metaverse for. We are going to put all of the university’s services on it and when 'BUFS Global Lounge' opens we will run a quiz twice a week and encourage students to participate in it. The schools and their curriculums are changing rapidly and it will be a great experience designing their path through this platform. The platform will be released in May and we are working hard to make classes available on the platform by next semester.”
