The Student Council of Busan University of Foreign Studies, which did not run in 2021, was revived in 2022. Last year the    Council was vacant because there were no candidates for the student council. The absence of a student council caused a lot    of inconvenience to the students. The student union fees paid by the students were not used for welfare and most of the    benefits that the students would usually have received were not provided. Based on last year’s absence, the revival of the    student council this year is noteworthy to students. Accordingly, the Student Council announced their tentative schedule for    the first semester.

First, they helped students who are living in the dormitories. On February 28 and March 1, students, including many freshmen, moved in to the dormitories for the first time. When the students moved into the dormitories, the student council members helped by carrying heavy bags and luggage. Other pledges that the Council has promised to pursue will start to be introduced in March, on a step-by-step process. The Student Council will partner with a laundry company to carry out the pledge of providing students living in the dormitories with a more convenient laundry service. In addition, a vending machine stocked with women’s products will be installed in the school, for the convenience of female students. Furthermore, the Council will also repair the area allocated for students to eat delivery food so that students can eat delivery food more conveniently, since that area has been neglected in the past. Furthermore, beverage vending machines will be installed on the sportsfield , and school festivals and game booths will be held through the ‘Romantic Project’. Other pledges will be executed during the second semester, too.

Lee Jun-young, President of the Student Council, said, “We are all having a very challenging time. Last year, we desperately felt the need for a Student Council. Now, a new year is waiting. The complaints and voices of the students were not heard by the school. You cannot know the inconvenience unless you experience it yourself. We will take the lead in returning the expectations and impressions of college life back to our classmates.”
