Busan University of Foreign Studies officially established the Korean India Center in cooperation with the Indian embassy. The India Center in Korea is the second officially recognized center, with the first being in Seoul. It is aimed at promoting the cultural heritage of India in the Buelgyeong area in cooperation with the India Cultural Center, as well as furthering cooperation between the two countries. In addition to activities such as the annual Indian culture day event, the Busan Gyeonggi region is expected to serve as a basis for cooperation with companies interested in entering India by opening educational courses, such as language courses. The university believes that this establishment will make a bridge for more exchanges with India.
The Indian Ambassador, Priya Ranganathan, said, "The India Center, which was opened at Busan University of Foreign Studies, will serve as a base for India-related activities in Busan, as a resource for students interested in India, and as a platform for academic and cultural exchanges with universities.“
