In the second month of 2022, a war broke out between Russia and Ukraine. Everyone around the world was shocked at the news. However, they thought that it would end shortly. What they did not know then was that this war was going to affect numerous countries around the world.

Russia, which is a leading supplier of oil and natural resources, was offended strongly by actions taken by European countries and the U.S. They strongly opposed Russia's invasion of the Ukrainian territory and strongly urged Russia to end the war quickly. However, Russia showed no response.

Therefore, European countries started their offense against Russia. They started to impose trade sanctions against goods produced by Russia. Their economic strategy against Russia seemed to work. However, soon after, Russia decreased their exports of fossil fuels and natural resources. This meant that other countries could not get their necessary resources.

As a result, gasoline and diesel prices started to rise quickly. The prices rose day by day, and people complained about the inconvenience. They had no option but to stop their economic attack on Russia. However, Russia still did not provide enough resources needed for all countries.

Since Russia holds a large share of the world's natural resources and fossil fuels, and they did not want to provide their resources to other countries, the world shook in need of natural resources.

European countries stated that they were in a state of emergency because they lacked fuels to use during the winter. News media were even reporting that people would have to choose to spend their money on food or fuel this winter. Such cases show the extent of the problem across the world.

Experts say that if European countries do not get their necessary resources before winter, those countries might face a very cold winter. Now it is up to Russia to decide on how the world is going to face winter.
