Death of Shinzo Abe, the Former Prime Minister of Japan

Shinzo Abe, the former Prime Minister of Japan, was shot while giving a speech in support of a candidate who was running for Japan's upper house. While he was on his was to move to the next event, a man, named Tetsuya Yamagami, aimed his gun toward Abe and shot him. Abe was rushed to a nearby hospital, but the doctors and medical staff were unable to save him.

The killer, who formerly served the Self-Defense Force, confessed that he shot Abe because of the religious group Abe was supporting. Known as the Jehovah's witnesses, this religious group totally changed Yamagami's mother's life. They made her pay money, serve more, and put a lot of restrictions on the daily lives of Yamagami's family. He was also forced to attend the campaign to spread their faith.

He was sick and tired of such behaviors. Then one day, he found out about Abe's ties to the religious group. Since then, he always blamed Abe, and began planning to assassinate him.

Based on this, Yamagami killed Shinzo Abe on July 8, 2022. The whole world was shocked. Many people in Japan mourned the death of the man seen as one of Japan's greatest prime ministers. Such terror against any government should never happen again.
