In the movie ‘Attila Marcel' the main character sniffs the smell of madeleine and then immediately is reminded of their childhood. Smelling a certain scent and then recollecting memories and emotions is called the Proust phenomenon. At this exhibition, visitors will explore the scientific principle behind the process of smelling and the allure of fragrance. When a person encounters a particular smell that they have been exposed to in the past, then the scent can trigger memories from that time. Are you ready to explore the reasons why that happens? There are five main themes in this exhibition; the fragrance that recalls memories, followed by the science of the smell, the various fragrances, the world of perfume, and the last is the amusing science of scent.
The science of scent investigates how the brain and the sense of smell functions when recognizing scent. In various fragrances, visitors will learn how different scents are blended and then creates a new smell and the trait of alternating perfume when time passes. In the world of fragrance, you can discover the history of why humanity started using scent. The value of redolence will be looked at from the research on perfume, career path, industry, and art.
